Kurseong: The Glorious Institute of Hospitality Management (Glorious IHM) hosted the much-awaited Glorious Cooking Competition on March 7 at its prestigious campus, marking the event's third edition with resounding success. This unique competition, featuring both male and female participants from diverse backgrounds, was a true celebration of talent, creativity, and culinary mastery. Organized in collaboration with the National Culinary Chefs Federation, Madhya Pradesh, the event aimed to showcase the remarkable skills of housewives, men, women, and students.

Inaugural Ceremony
The competition kicked off with a grand opening ceremony graced by Rajyogini B.K. Durga Didi from Prajapita Brahma Kumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Kurseong, who delivered a heartfelt motivational address, inspiring all attendees with her spiritual wisdom. The ceremonial lamp was lit by B.K. Durga Didi, Glorious IHM Director Gagan Lama, and renowned chefs Chef Durga Giri and Chef Binita Tamang, who served as the esteemed judges for the event. Chef Giri, a seasoned professional with experience at Oberoi Hotels and international exposure, alongside Chef Tamang, who has worked with ITC India and abroad, added a touch of global expertise to the competition.
Exciting
and Innovative Dishes
A total of 15 talented participants from various corners of Kurseong, including senior women and enthusiastic students, came together to present their unique culinary creations. The competition featured a rich variety of dishes, from traditional favorites to innovative new ideas.
Among the standout creations was Karishma Pradhan, a student of Glorious IHM and an alumnus of Kurseong College, who won the Best Innovative Dish Award for her extraordinary culinary invention.

Honors and Heartfelt Recognition
The event witnessed impressive
performances, with Mrs. Vidya Sau clinching the 1st Position, securing a ₹5,000 cash prize, a trophy, and
a certificate. A
seasoned participant, Mrs. Sau had previously competed in the event and
continues to inspire others with her unwavering passion for cooking.
The 2nd Position was claimed by the ever-enthusiastic Mrs. Renuka Raut, who, at the age of 64, proved that culinary excellence knows no age.
