Gaumaya Gurung Boards ‘Abhimanyu’ from the Maker of ‘Purna Bahadurko Sarangi

Kathmandu: Casting for the film Abhimanyu has officially begun, with the production team gradually revealing the names of the actors. The first confirmed cast member is Gaumaya Gurung. Announcing her involvement, producer Binod Poudel stated, "We have begun selecting actors for our film. Gaumayaji is the first artist we have signed. We will continue adding more actors to build a strong lineup that fits the film’s characters."

Poudel, the producer of the all-time blockbuster Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, is now set to produce Abhimanyu. The film is scheduled for release on September 12, 2025. The theme poster of Abhimanyu will illustrate the conflict between a labyrinth (Chakravyuh) and the temptation of wealth. The story follows a character who, enticed by greed, becomes trapped in the Chakravyuh and struggles to break free. The film is set for a worldwide release in both Hindi and Nepali.

Presented by Seven Seas Cinema, Abhimanyu marks the directorial debut of Sushant Gautam. The screenplay is written by Mukesh Khanal, while Madan Thapa, known for directing Bato: Road to Death, serves as the creative director. Sharad Mahato is the film’s director of photography (DOP). Produced by Binod Poudel and Gunjan Giri, the film also has Ramesh Chaulagai and Hari Shrestha as co-producers.
